Tapered roller bearing mainly bears radial and axial combined load.

The bearing capacity depends on the raceway angle of the outer ring, and the larger the angle is, the greater the bearing capacity is. This kind of bearing belongs to separate type bearing, which is divided into single row, double row and four row tapered roller bearings according to the number of rows of rolling elements in the bearing. The clearance of single row tapered roller bearing needs to be adjusted by the user during installation; the clearance of double row and four row tapered roller bearing has been given according to the user's requirements when the product is delivered from the factory, and does not need to be adjusted by the user.

Tapered roller bearings have tapered inner ring and outer ring raceways, and tapered rollers are arranged between them.

The projection lines of all conical surfaces meet at the same point of the bearing axis. This design makes the tapered roller bearing particularly suitable for composite (radial and axial) loads. Most of the axial load capacity of the bearing is determined by the contact angle α; the larger the angle α is, the higher the axial load capacity is. The angle is expressed by calculation coefficient e. the larger the value of E is, the larger the contact angle is, the greater the applicability of bearing to axial load is.

Tapered roller bearings are usually of separate type, that is, the tapered inner ring assembly consisting of the inner ring with roller and cage assembly can be installed separately from the tapered outer ring (outer ring).

Tapered roller bearings are widely used in automobile, rolling mill, mine, metallurgy, plastic machinery and other industries.

The main reasons for the occurrence of the scars in the process of installation of tapered roller bearings are as follows:

When the bearing is in the process of installation and assembly, the inner ring and outer ring appear to be skewed; or perhaps in the process of installation and assembly, the emergence of the punch and trap load finally forms the appearance of the bearing scar.

When the tapered roller bearing is being installed, it should be stopped according to the working specifications. If there are not many achievements, for example, if the form or method of the device is not appropriate, the raceway surface and the Gulu surface of the bearing will be formed to form the linear scars of the bearing. The device of deep groove ball bearing indirectly reflects the precision, life and function of the bearing when it is used.

Although the quality of tapered roller bearing is relatively good, the rolling bearing is a precision part, and its use must be carried out with caution accordingly. No matter how high-performance bearings are used, if they are not used properly, they will not get the expected high performance.

There are the following precautions for the use of bearings:

(1) Keep the tapered roller bearing and its surroundings clean.

    Even the small dust that can't be seen by the eyes will bring bad influence to the bearing. Therefore, keep the surrounding clean, so that the dust will not invade the bearing.

(2) . use it carefully.

    In the use of tapered roller bearing strong impact, will produce scars and indentation, become the cause of the accident. In serious cases, it will crack and break, so we must pay attention to it.

(3) Use proper operation tools.

    Avoid replacing it with existing tools and use the right tools.

(4) Pay attention to the corrosion of tapered roller bearing.

When operating the bearing, the sweat on the hand will be the cause of rust. Pay attention to using clean hands, and try to wear gloves as much as possible.

It is a common method for tapered roller bearing to recognize irregular operation by hearing. For example, it is used by experienced operators to detect abnormal noise of a part by electronic stethoscope. If the bearing is in good operation condition, it will make low whine. If it makes sharp hiss, squeak and other irregular sounds, it usually indicates that the bearing is in poor operation condition.

1. Tile surface corrosion:

Spectrum analysis shows that the concentration of non-ferrous elements is abnormal; many submicron wear particles of non-ferrous elements appear in ferrography; the water content and acid value of lubricating oil exceed the standard.

2. Journal surface strain:

In the ferrography, there are some ferrous cutting abrasive particles or black oxide particles, and there is tempering color on the metal surface.

3. Journal surface corrosion:

Spectrum analysis shows that the concentration of iron is abnormal, there are many submicron particles of iron in ferrography, and the water content or acid value of lubricating oil exceeds the standard.

4. Surface strain:

It is found in the Ferrograph that there are cutting abrasive particles, and the component of abrasive particles is non-ferrous metal.

5. Fretting wear of tile back:

The spectrum analysis shows that the concentration of iron is abnormal, there are many iron component submicron wear particles in the ferrography, and the moisture and acid value of lubricating oil are abnormal.

Under the condition of liquid lubrication, the sliding surface is separated by lubricating oil without direct contact, and the friction loss and surface wear can be greatly reduced. The oil film also has certain vibration absorption capacity

Sharp squeaks can be caused by improper lubrication. Improper bearing clearance can also cause metal noise. The dents on the outer race track of tapered roller bearing will cause vibration, and cause smooth and crisp sound. If the knocking scars caused by the installation will also produce noise, the noise will vary with the speed of the bearing. If there is intermittent noise, it means that the rolling element may be damaged. The sound of tapered roller bearing occurs when the damaged surface is rolled. If there is pollutant in the bearing, it will often cause hissing. If there is serious bearing damage, it will produce irregular and huge noise.

Although bearing damage can be detected by hearing, it is usually necessary to replace the bearing immediately when it has arrived. Therefore, better methods such as using electronic condition monitoring instruments, tapered roller bearings break the operation of the bearings in advance.
